March Reading Recap

Welcome back to the blog! I can’t believe it's the end of March already. 2024 is such a fever dream already. I’ve had a pretty good month, reading wise, so I’d like to share what I read and my thoughts on them.

  • What Happens After Midnight by K.L Walther. This was such a cute read! It was easy to get through, but that was exactly what I wanted. Overall I rated it 3.5 stars. It was good and entertaining, but it was just one of those reads where it was lacking a little bit.

  • The Drowned Woods by Emily Lloyd-Jones. I rated this 4 stars. It's fantasy, inspired by Welsh mythology, which I’ve never read before! I loved the main characters and their dynamic. I haven’t heard of this folklore before and it was so interesting.

  • I Hope This Doesn’t Find You by Ann Liang. Let me tell you this: ANN LIANG EATS EVERY TIME. Her romance is some of the best I’ve ever read. I think Julius and Sadie are high on the list of my favorite fictional couples. Their dynamic was everything to me. 5/5 stars.

  • The Prisoner’s Throne by Holly Black. I rated this one 4.5 stars. I love the Folk of the Air books so much. I love Wren and Oak so much (I can’t forget about Jude and Cardan because its them? They’re the best?). Holly Black is a genius (fun fact she noticed me on IG).

  • Betting on You by Lynn Painter. I rated this one 4 stars. I ate this up. Charlie and Bailey had such a great dynamic. Bailey is so me in so many ways. I’m still getting over the fact that Charlie and Wes (from Better Than the Movies) are cousins. It feels like Spiderman: No Way Home.

  • Happy Place by Emily Henry. This was only the second book I’ve read by her, and let me tell you: another 5 star read. I read Book Lovers back in January, and I’m still obsessed. I waited months for this ebook to become available and it was so worth it. The vibes were there. All the characters were fleshed out and had dimension.

  • Lore by Alexandra Bracken. 3.5 stars. I loved this concept. It was confusing, but I love Greek mythology and I feel like it fits so its okay. I loved Lore and Castor and Miles and Van. The feminine rage in this was so good. Definitely fits the “History of Man” theme by Maisie Peters. There were some parts where I got bored, but overall it was a pretty entertaining read, and as a Greek mythology nerd, I appreciated everything about it.
