my physical tbr

today’s post is all about books on my bookshelf that i have unfortunately neglected to read (some of which have been sitting there for months to a year).

  1. the secret history - i’ve been wanting to read this popular one for a long time, but when i tried reading it last autumn i paused it because i wasn’t in the mood. i’m hoping to read it by the end of 2024!

  2. iron widow - i’ve also heard great things about this one, but i haven’t gotten to it yet, unfortunately.

  3. the personal librarian - i meant to read this before i went to new york city in the beginning of october, because i visited the morgan library (which was the inspiration for this book). the story seems very interesting!

  4. city of bones - i loved the clockwork angel series, but something about this hasn’t caught my interest too much. i bought it because i thought it would hook me as much as the other trilogy did, but so far, it hasn’t. i’m hoping that will change soon.

  5. the chalice of the gods - i love the percy jackson books and i really want to read this one, but like the other novels on this list, i haven’t gotten to it yet.

  6. babel - i got this one a bit more recently, but i haven’t been in the mood to read it. the synopsis and the aesthetic are fascinating. i love this genre!

  7. the poppy war - does this make it onto the list? i think yes. i’m technically halfway through it, and its very good, but at the same time its a difficult read if that makes any sense. the material is dense but the writing is beautiful. i really want to get back into it.

  8. the lives of tudor women - this book is a little different than the other ones on the list, seeing as its nonfiction. i bought this one in england when i traveled there in summer 2023. i’m a huge history nerd so i thought i would tear through it quickly but i haven’t quite yet.

  9. the silent patient - i’ve been wanting to read this book for so long! i love crime and thriller books and it caught my eye a while ago, but i only recently bought it.

  10. stephen king, on writing - another nonfiction book, aimed towards writers. i’ve had it for a while now, yet i still haven’t taken a look, which is crazy. i need to read some of it soon.

thank you for reading, i hope you enjoyed! i’m aiming to get through some of these books soon, but who knows. see you next week!
