Summer Reading/Writing Recap

Welcome back to another blog post! I apologize for the lack of posts in the recent weeks. Time has gone by so fast, and now I start the new school year on Monday, and my life will become a lot busier. I’ll do my best to keep up with this posting schedule (same goes for Instagram), but we’ll have to wait and see. Without further ado, this is my summer reading/writing recap!

Books I read in June:

  • Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer

  • Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid

  • The Reappearance of Rachel Price by Holly Jackson

Books I read in July:

  • Educated by Tara Westover

  • Beach Read by Emily Henry

  • Powerless by Lauren Roberts

  • The 100 by Kass Morgan

  • All In by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

  • Carrie Soto is Back by Taylor Jenkins Reid

  • A History of the World in Six Glasses by Tom Standage

  • The Atlas Six by Olivie Blake

  • Day 21 by Kass Morgan

  • The Hand on the Wall by Maureen Johnson

  • Homecoming by Kass Morgan

It’s clear I read a lot more in July than in June. I was in a weird period where I just… didn’t want to read as much? I’m glad I got out of that slump by July and read a lot then! This summer I read three books for school (two for AP Lang and one for AP World History), which were Into the Wild and Educated for Lang and A History of the World in Six Glasses for AP World. Out of the three, I enjoyed Educated the best. The writing was more my speed and the story was very interesting.

As for writing, I began a new story! Like most of my stories, it’s a young adult fantasy, and the acronym is TRK. I can’t wait to share more about it, but I currently have 5.3k words. I’ve been struggling to write chapter three, but I’m determined to push past the difficulty.

Well, that’s it for today’s blog post! I’d love to hear about your summers, so feel free to reach out on Instagram. Thank you for reading!
