April Reading Recap

Welcome back to the blog! I can’t believe it's already the end of April. I have less than a month of school. The year flew by. I had a slower reading month, but here is what I read!

  • The Vanishing Stair by Maureen Johnson. This was a fantastic sequel to Truly Devious. I love Stevie’s relationships with her friends. They remind me of me and my friends. The plot thickened, and I think it tied really well into the first book. Stevie and David own my heart. I love them, and can’t wait to see where their relationship leads. Overall, 4.5 stars.

  • Kingdom of Cards by Emmaline Leigh. I had the pleasure to read an ARC of this book, but it will be published in three days, on April 30th! I have a review on my Goodreads if you want to read it (or just find the book on it and look for my review). I loved this book so much. I’ve always enjoyed reading fantasy and mystery, and this was a perfect blend of both. The characters were all interesting and relatable. Be sure to read it when it’s published!

  • Girl in Pieces by Kathleen Glasgow. My last blog post was a review on this, so I’ll keep this one short. I really enjoyed this book. It was a good change of pace from my usual fantasy. I loved the characters and their inner conflicts. Seeing Charlie get her happy ending made me so proud.

  • Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare. Tessa Gray I love you. She is amazing. I love her. I’ve heard a variety of different things about Clare’s books, so I had low expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised! I’m usually not a fan of love triangles but I feel like this one could work; Tessa seems to have an actual bond with each of the love interests. Her dynamics with the other side characters were so entertaining. The plot twist at the end threw me off and made me so sad. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series!

I’m currently reading Red, White, and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston, so I’ll be sure to post a review when I’m done with it. I’m loving Alex and Henry. I’m about 180 pages in. Anyways, thank you for reading and see you next time!
